Work Experience

Work Experience is an important program at the Education Centre that is made available to all high school students. We have two distinct programs for supporting our students. The Work Experience Training Program is supervised by an Education Assistant who helps with training students and building their self confidence at a job site. The Training Program is not for credits towards graduation, but rather is an experience that can be used for a resume or may lead to a credit based Work Experience or perhaps an employment opportunity. Our Work Experience Credit Based Program is a district supported program where students are provided a more extended and comprehensive experience that is within the framework of the Ministry approved course.

Students are encouraged to visit with our Work Experience Coordinator, Carlene Lafreniere, if they are interested in gathering more information about this very exciting program at our school.

The District encourages students to be socially responsible, contributing citizens. On September 27, 2019, the global climate strike day, parents may excuse their child from class if they choose. These students will be recorded as absent and will be allowed to make up any academic work missed.
